How to RSVP for Club Meetings

Every first Wednesday of the month, from 5:30-7:30, the Club meets at our clubhouse, The Denver Woman’s Press Club at 1325 Logan St. This is our flagship event and the primary way we keep up with each other.

To keep things fun and interesting, each meeting has a theme—so check out that month’s meeting event page to get all the information you need, ahead of time. That’s also where you’ll RSVP for each meeting, so I’ll email a link out with each meeting invitation. It’s worth noting: you may always find it in the main menu of the site after you’ve logged in.

Why the RSVP form?

It’s a simple way for me to keep track of everyone’s RSVPs—and you only need to visit one place (the meeting’s calendar page), instead of the website and Evenbrite as we’ve done in the past. We continue to use Eventbrite for our public events (i.e. the Stories in the Springtime event), but for the members-only events, you can expect to RSVP on our website.

Within the form, I’ll ask you a couple basic questions (your name, email, whether or not you can make it), questions related to the month’s theme (if needed), and what from the Scribbler contribution list works best for you to pitch in with the meeting this month.

What’s the Scribbler contribution list?

This club is lovingly maintained by me, Kaitlynn (hence the Facilitator title), which is super fun and I love doing, and it comes with investments of time, energy, and money. Over the past year of discussion and feedback, it’s become clear that the Scribblers are an eager-to-help bunch, so this is my way of making that possible!

Each month, you can opt in to help me:

  • Set up and/or tear down the meeting space

  • Pay for the DWPC’s hosting fee

  • Put snacks on Scribbler’s plates

Or, you can share another idea in the RSVP form. I’m hoping this makes it accessible for us all to continue enjoying the goodness of the club—and it may change down the road! I will continue to request feedback as we go, so we may adjust this approach, but you can rest assured knowing I will communicate any of these changes as they happen!

Why do I have to login to see the club meeting page?

There are currently two types of events on the Scribbling Club’s calendar: members-only and public-facing. I decided it wouldn’t be very “members-only” of those events to be visible to everyone, so those happenings (club meetings, special events, etc) are visible only to Club Members, hence the log in requirement. Once you’re on the member site, you need only visit the event’s page to RSVP as well, another benefit of needing to login!

The public, ticketed events remain visible on our non-login calendar, and folks can get their tickets via the Eventbrite link, featured prominently on the event’s page. We also feature those page links on our Instagram page!

Anything else?

Comment if you have a question about RSVP’ing that I didn’t answer here!
